We are looking for a Housekeeper for 22 hours for various shifts across the week to be an integral part of our Housekeeping Team. We are specifically looking for an individual who is efficient, attentive, and committed to ensuring our visiting Pilgrim’s stay is an enjoyable and spiritually rewarding experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Making beds, cleaning guest rooms, common areas and cleaning communal bathrooms.
  • Dusting furniture and fixtures, polishing, hoover and mop across our accommodation properties.
  • Pack and count laundry to be collected and take in and count deliveries.
  • Contribute to the re-stocking of cupboards ready for changeovers.
  • Work safely and securely, especially when lifting, manual handling, and when using our cleaning chemicals.
  • Work towards and keep to high standards of cleaning throughout all sites of the organisation.

This interesting role demands excellent customer service, as well as a positive attitude towards professional standards.

Previous Housekeeping experience desirable. Full induction and training will be given. Our accommodation is open 7 days a week from March through to December.

Pay: £11.44 per hour

Hours: 22 hours per week, including weekends and Bank Holidays on a fixed term contract until 31st December 2024

Night Porter

We are looking for a Night Porter to join the team at the Walsingham Trust. Based in our offices in Little Walsingham, Norfolk we administer the Catholic National Shrine. This is a role which requires someone who can demonstrate commitment and responsibility to providing a safe environment for visitors in our accommodation.

If you have experience and can demonstrate this commitment you will:

  • To provide first response to medical, fire, security and facilities emergencies, alerting appropriate services to assist as required.
  • To coordinate evacuation of property in the case of fire alarm activation.
  • To be responsible for building security ensuring relevant doors, including the Parish Church are locked and unlocked in accordance with policies in place.
  • To make emergency decisions in case of incident, such as fire, flood, illness in consultation with relevant Duty Manager.
  • To take bookings, and check guests in and out of Trust accommodation outside core Reception hours, ensuring that people are treated courteously and helpfully at all times.
  • To ensure that any accommodation faults, problems or necessary repairs are reported to relevant people as quickly as possible.
  • To act as an ambassador for the Shrine at all times.

The role is shift work and currently runs as 8pm – 8am 3 nights per week.

Pay: £11.44 plus excellent benefits

Hours: 36 hours per week including weekends and Bank Holidays.
