Entrances to Elmham House have been adapted to be wheelchair-friendly with ramps and automatic door closers. At mealtimes, staff are on hand to assist. There is also a doorbell at an accessible height in Friday Market by the door to Elmham House Reception to allow wheelchair users to attract the attention of a those in Reception or on night duty.
There are fire alarm sensors and sounders in every bedroom. Smoking indoors is not permitted and will trigger alarms. In addition, hairsprays, deodorants, etc have set off the sensors so please be careful. Ensure you know how to evacuate the building if the alarm sounds – even if a false alarm is suspected. The assembly point for Elmham House pilgrims is on Friday Market Place (not the courtyard, nor near the church). Please read the notices in the bedrooms to familiarise yourself with the procedure. Return to the building only with permission from a member of staff. Please also let us know if you have any disabilities ahead of your arrival.

Any other issues or for further service, please contact reception.
Further tea, coffee and sugar sachets are available from the tea and coffee station in the dining room.
Please use the telephones found at various points around the building if no one is around to answer your queries.
We also invite you to visit the Shrine’s website www.walsingham.org.uk and to explore what Walsingham and the surrounding area has to offer.
As spiritual preparation for your visit we invite you to reflect on the purpose of your visit and to pray the Novena to Our Lady of Walsingham in the 9 days before your arrival. This can be accessed online at www.walsingham.org.uk/novena/. You may also wish to consider purchasing a copy of Fr Michael Rear’s, Pilgrims and Pilgrimages. Both available at EH Reception, the Slipper Chapel Shop and online at shop.walsingham.org.uk.
