GENERAL INFORMATION

ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES

Your room will be available from 3.30pm on the day of arrival until 10am on the day of departure. If you anticipate an earlier arrival, please let us know so that we can try and arrange for an early check-in.

CHILDREN

Children aged 5 to 16 are entitled to half price accommodation and meals when staying and eating with an adult.  Infants and children aged 4 and under, go free.

ACCESSIBILITY

Entrances to Elmham House have been adapted to be wheelchair-friendly with ramps and automatic door closers.  At mealtimes, staff are on hand to assist.  There is also a doorbell at an accessible height in Friday Market by the door to Elmham House Reception to allow wheelchair users to attract the attention of a those in Reception or on night duty.

FIRE EVACUATION INFORMATION

There are fire alarm sensors and sounders in every bedroom. Smoking indoors is not permitted and will trigger alarms. In addition, hairsprays, deodorants, etc have set off the sensors so please be careful. Ensure you know how to evacuate the building if the alarm sounds – even if a false alarm is suspected. The assembly point for Elmham House pilgrims is on Friday Market Place (not the courtyard, nor near the church). Please read the notices in the bedrooms to familiarise yourself with the procedure. Return to the building only with permission from a member of staff. Please also let us know if you have any disabilities ahead of your arrival.

 MASS TIMES

There is a 9.30am Mass every Monday – Saturday at the Church of the Annunciation which is next to Elmham House.  Sunday Mass is 10.30am.

Mass at the Catholic National Shrine and Basilica of Our Lady is at 12.00 midday, every day. The Basilica is one mile from Elmham House and can be easily reached on foot in approximately 30 minutes along the Pilgrim Way.  The Pilgrim Way can be accessed by walking up Station Road by the Black Lion Pub in Friday Market Place and turning left by St Seraphim’s Chapel.

MEAL OPTIONS

If not already included in your tariff, we invite you to consider our half board (two course meal) and full board options (packed lunch and two course evening dinner) which are cheaper if pre-booked.  Children aged 5 to 16 are half price. On the day two courses cost from £17.50 per adult (£8.75 per child aged 5 to 16).  Infants and children aged 4 and under get free meals when eating with an adult. These can be added to your booking by emailing reservations@walsingham.org.uk or calling 01328 820 217 and selecting the Elmham House option.

MEALTIMES

Breakfast: served daily between 08:00 and 09:00.
Lunch: served at 1pm (by arrangement only, Monday to Saturday) and at 1.15pm (Sundays)
Supper: served at 6pm ONLY

SPECIAL DIETS AND FOOD ALLERGIES

Please notify us at the time of booking of any special dietary requirements.  If you or any of your party are allergic to particular foods, please inform us in writing and let the Kitchen staff know at every mealtime. Whilst we take the issue of food allergies and intolerances seriously all dishes are produced and prepared in environments that are not free from gluten, milk, egg, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, tree nuts (such as walnut, hazelnut, almond, cashews etc.), peanuts, sesame, celery, mustard, lupin, soya, or sulphur dioxide therefore all dishes may contain traces of these and other allergens. If you or any of your party suffer from sensitive trace reactions for stated allergens, please be aware that we are unable to guarantee suitability for them.

PAYMENT

Full payment in advance is required to secure your booking.  Where possible payment should be made by debit or credit card as this minimises administrative costs for the Trust.

AMENDING OR CANCELLING YOUR BOOKING

Individual bookings can be amended or cancelled up to midday on the day of arrival. Cancelations made after this time will be subject to a fee equivalent to the first day of the booking. Cancellations of bookings made through third party websites need to be cancelled through said website and periods of free cancellation may differ, please check your agreement.  Please note additional charges apply to group bookings.

GROUP DEPOSITS, CANCELLATIONS AND AMENDMENTS

Deposit must be paid up to 6 weeks after your initial booking enquiry. This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable and if you cancel the booking for any reason your deposit will be lost. The deposit amount will be based on your group size and number of days booked. A final rooming list should be sent 4 weeks in advance of your group’s arrival. Please note, if you cancel any beds in the two-week period prior to your arrival date, you will be subject to the cancellation fee, which is the price of the bed per night, minus meals.

PETS

No pets are allowed on the premises except for registered assistance dogs (subject to suitable accommodation being available).

PARKING

Elmham House does not have its own car park for residents. There is a small free car park on Friday Market Place (NR22 6DB) outside reception or there is the Old Mill pay and display car park (NR22 6DH) at the top of the High Street that’s a short walk away from Elmham House and accessible both from Common Place and from Coker’s Hill. Charges: £2.50 (2hrs), £4.00 (4hrs), £7.00 (24hrs), £12.00 (48hrs) or £30.00 for a week. Coach charges: £6.00 (4hrs), £10.00 (24hrs), £15.00 (48hrs) or £35.00 for a week. Free overnight from 6pm to 8am.

LIFT USE

Up to 3 adults or a family is allowed in the Elmham House lift at a time. Please stand away from the doors when they open to check if it is free. If not, please let the persons get out first. Priority for the lift should be given to people with disabilities and we encourage the use of the stairs if people feel they are able to do so.

NOTICES

Please follow notices that are on display around the buildings and staff instructions when given to you.

GENERAL HIGIENE INSTRUCTIONS

Please wash and dry your hands regularly and use hand sanitizer when entering the building and before getting food to eat or drink. When entering Elmham House dining areas to eat please queue for your food at the serving hatch. The tea/coffee station is open for tea and coffee and drinks can be purchased from the bar. When you finish your meal, please take all used crockery and cutlery up to the hatch for washing. Enhanced cleaning is taking place on frequently touched items.

SERVICING OF ROOMS

To minimise costs and improve efficiency, bedrooms will not ordinarily be serviced during your stay. If you have towels which need replacing, or rubbish bins which need emptying, please leave these on the floor outside your room by 9.30am.  Fresh towels and bins will be placed in your room. Any other issues or for further service, please contact reception.

ADDITIONAL TEA, COFFEE AND SUGAR

Further tea, coffee and sugar sachets are available from the tea and coffee station in the dining room.
