Mgr Philip Moger, Bishop-Elect of Southwark – Final Sunday Mass as Rector

Our Rector, Mgr Philip Moger and Bishop-Elect of Southwark, will celebrate his final Sunday Mass as Rector of the Basilica & National Shrine of Our Lady, Walsingham, on Sunday, 5th February, 2023.

There will be various presentations at the end of Mass, and a leaving gathering will follow afterwards.

We thank Mgr Philip for his leadership in apostolic service of Our Lady’s National Shrine, and offer him our assurance of prayers. We have appreciated Mgr Philip’s gentle ways, concise, deeply spiritual preaching, and extension of kind friendship to many throughout the locality.

Mgr Philip you will be greatly missed. May Our Divine Lord and His Holy Mother, Our Lady of Walsingham go with you, as you enter pastures new in the great Archdiocese of Southwark. May you flourish there, and bring many back to Christ and his beloved Church.

Both Bishop Peter Collins and Emeritus Bishop Alan Hopes will be in attendance, to thank Mgr. Moger, and to assure him of on going prayers for his new appointment as an Auxillary Bishop in Southwark. Bishop-Elect Philip Moger’s Episcopal Ordination will be on Tuesday February 21st at 12.30 pm in St George’s Cathedral, Southwark. It will be live-streamed.
