The Catholic National Shrine’s main pilgrim accommodation, Elmham House, is situated in the heart of Walsingham on Friday Market Place. It is a stone’s throw away from the Abbey Grounds and 30 minute walk away from the Slipper Chapel Shrine. Our aim is to provide reasonably priced accommodation for those who wish to visit the Shrine, so it is not possible to book specific rooms, although preferences will be noted.
FEATURES: The property features 70 bedrooms which are mostly ensuite, a refurbished open plan dining room, lounge area and bar, a library and lounge room. Breakfast options include continental and full English. There is also a bar. Bedrooms vary from standard singles, to twin-bedded and family rooms which all have electric heating and a hand-basin. Soap, towels and bedlinen are provided. Ensuite rooms are additionally equipped with showers, a TV and complimentary hot drink facilities.
MEAL OPTIONS: If not already included in your tariff, we invite you to consider our half board option (£13 extra for a two course supper) and full board (£20 extra for a packed lunch and two course evening dinner). On the day two courses cost from £16 per adult (£8 per child aged 5 to 16). Children aged 5 to 16 are half price. Infants and children aged 4 and under go free when eating with an adult. The licensed restaurant serves a set menu (to be booked in advance). Medical and other diets can often be accommodated. Special occasions – birthdays, anniversaries etc – can be catered for on application in advance, and many groups come for a winter ‘Two-for-One” get-away and have a lovely Christmas meal too.
CHILDREN: Children aged 5 to 16 are entitled to half price accommodation and meals when staying and eating with an adult. Infants and children aged 4 and under, go free.
WHEELCHAIR ACCESS: Entrances to Elmham House have been adapted to be wheelchair-friendly with ramps and automatic door closers. At mealtimes, staff are on hand to assist. There is also a doorbell at an accessible height in Friday Market by the door to Elmham House Reception to allow wheelchair users to attract the attention of a those in Reception or on night duty.
