Catholic National Shrine Of Our Lady in Walsingham Celebrates Solemnity of Corpus Christi

On Sunday 2nd June, the Catholic National Shrine and Basilica of Our Lady, at Walsingham, celebrated the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, led by Fr Robert Billing, Rector of the Shrine.


The day began at 11.00am with the Rosary and opportunity for confessions. At 12 noon, the Shrine Rector, Fr Robert Billing celebrated Solemn Mass, where at its close the Blessed Sacrament was exposed upon the altar. This was followed by a Blessed Sacrament Procession around the Shrine Grounds and then a further opportunity for silent prayer and Eucharistic adoration into the afternoon. Around 700 faithful attended,

At 3.00pm, pilgrims were led in the Jubilee Prayer and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. This was followed by Solemn Vespers, Benediction, and a Procession to the Slipper Chapel for the Prayer for England and the singing of the Salve Regina.
