Catholic National Shrine Of Our Lady Welcomes Annual A Day With Mary Pilgrimage To Walsingham

On Sunday 12th May, the annual A Day With Mary Pilgrimage to Walsingham saw around 400 participants gather together with other day pilgrims, for a day of prayer and reflection, led by Canon John O’Leary, Rector of Allen Hall Seminary.

The pilgrimage began at 12.20 pm at Friday Market in Walsingham, with pilgrims being led in the Regina Caeli. They then processed along the Pilgrim Way to the Shrine while praying the Joyful and Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary

Upon arrival at the Shrine, they were welcomed by Fr Robert Billing, Rector of the Shrine. There, the Statute of Our Lady of Walsingham, which they had carried down the Pilgrim Way, was crowned. They then prayed an Act of Consecration and Litany. After this, at 1.30 pm, there was the opportunity to eat a packed lunch.

Following lunch, there was Exposition with an Outdoor Procession of the Blessed Sacrament. Canon O’Leary then delivered a sermon on Our Lady and led pilgrims in the Via Lucis. There was then an opportunity for Silent Adoration before they prayed the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary. This was followed by enrollments in the Brown Scapular and Miraculous Medal.

The pilgrimage culminated with Mass at 5.00pm in the Chapel of Reconciliation, presided over by Canon O’Leary.
