Catholic National Shrine Of Our Lady Welcomes Annual East Anglia Pilgrimage To Walsingham

On Monday 6th May, the annual East Anglia Diocese Pilgrimage to Walsingham saw over 1,000 pilgrims participate, led by Rt. Rev Peter Collins, the Bishop of the Diocese and Bishop Emeritus Alan Hopes.

This local diocesan pilgrimage began at 12 noon with the Regina Caeli and the Crowning of the Statue of Our Lady in the Friday Market Place, Walsingham. This was followed by a Rosary procession along the Holy Mile to the Shrine.

Upon arrival at the Shrine, there was the opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation in addition to Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

The pilgrimage culminated with a splendid Pontifical Mass at 3.00pm in the Chapel of Reconciliation, presided over by Bishop Peter Collins, joined by Bishop Emeritus Alan Hopes, Fr Robert Billing, Rector of the Shrine, and priests of the Diocese.
