Catholic National Shrine Welcomes Tamil 1 Pilgrimage To Walsingham

On Sunday 5th May, over 5,000 pilgrims from the Tamil community across the country attended the annual Tamil 1 pilgrimage to the Catholic National Shrine of Our Lady, Walsingham.

The pilgrimage was led by Fr Elmo Jeyarasa from the Catholic Tamil Chaplaincy. It commenced with the hoisting of the flag at 10.15am, followed by morning prayer in the Chapel of Reconciliation. The participants were then led in the Rosary and received Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

This large pilgrimage culminated with the Holy Mass at 12.15pm, celebrated by Msgr Pathinathan Josephdas Jebaratnam [Vicar General of the Diocese of Jaffna in Northern Sri Lanka] and Fr Elmo Jeyarasa, and was accompanied by the Tamil choir providing lively music throughout.
