Tuesday 31st May was the Diocese of East Anglia Children`s Pilgrimage. We woke up in Walsingham to torrential rain and during the morning a month`s
rainfall was recorded. Needless to say the lanes around the National Shrine were streams and the fields were flooded by the River Stiffkey. The decision was made to
cancel the procession from the village to the Shrine but the spirits of those children who came were not dampened! Bishop Alan Hopes celebrated the Holy Mass
and Mgr John Armitage, the Rector of the Shrine, gave the homily. Thank you to all the organisers who brought coaches or came in cars and to the children who
ensured that it was a happy day as well as a very wet one!
