Pro-Life Pilgrimage

The weather stayed fair for the Pro-Life Pilgrimage, which was very fortunate, as with the numbers attending it would not have been possible to celebrate Mass in
the Chapel of Reconciliation. Twenty coaches of pilgrims travelled to Walsingham, a wonderful witness to the sanctity of life. Bishop Philip Egan, Bishop of
Portsmouth, presided and preached at the Mass. A busy and prayerful afternoon followed after lunch starting with Stations of the Cross in the shrine grounds.
These crosses are the ones carried from various parts of England in 1948 as part of a pilgrimage of reparation after the war. There was then a silent procession
along the Pilgrims` Way to the priory grounds for prayers at the site of the original shrine.
