The National Shrine rector, Mgr John Armitage, was particularly glad to welcome the Diocese of Leeds as this year their pilgrimage was led by their new bishop, the
Right Revd Marcus Stock. There were increased numbers from previous years and the pilgrimage organizer, Fr Ben Griffiths, and the bishop extended the
programme to include a procession along the Holy Mile to the priory grounds concluding for exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Vespers and Benediction. As it
was such a lovely warm day, the Mass was celebrated in the shrine grounds.
