Marist Pilgrimage

The Marist Pilgrimage celebrated over 47 years of the Marist Fathers` and Sisters` care of the National Shrine. On the appointment of
Bishop Alan Williams sm as the Bishop of Brentwood last year, the Marists Fathers decided that they were no longer able to take care of the Shrine, though happily
they still care for the parish of Walsingham with its four churches and the Sisters still work at the Shrine. The Mass was celebrated by Fr Peter Corcoran sm, the
provincial and the homily was given by Fr John O`Gara. The Chapel of Reconciliation was full of the extended Marist family as the new shrine rector, Mgr John
Armitage, paid tribute to the great contribution of the Marists to the life of the Shrine.
