We have just said goodbye to the first of our Thursford “Pilgrims” – these are the stalwart visitors we welcome at Elmham House – and the Shrine – each year who combine a visit to the Thursford Christmas Spectacular with a Pilgrimage to the Shrine. Each year the Thursford Collection puts on a multi-million pound Christmas spectacular with singers, musicians, dancers and other artists from around the country during the run-up to Christmas. As our accommodation, Elmham House, is open until around the 17-20 December each year some groups have decided to take in a show whilst coming to prepare spiritually for the coming season. It is an ideal way to prepare for Christ’s coming by acknowledging the commercial aspect of the season whilst offsetting the glitz, glamour and present shopping with an Advent or Carol Service, Masses and processions in preparation for the real Christmas.
